We recently returned from a wonderful stay at Rixos Marina in Abu Dhabi. I reviewed the hotel itself here.
The room we stayed in was premium room 918 with a balcony on the 9th floor. It was located next to the front of the hotel and had some great night views (see photo above!), but for the best views during the day, the hotel overlooks the pool and overlooks the ocean. We recommend the back side. We also recommend going as high as possible (unless you're afraid of heights!) for the pure exhilaration.
I stayed with my teenage son, so we used a twin room. The good thing is that each twin bed is a double bed, so it feels very spacious and the bed is very comfortable.
The room has a large flat screen TV. To be honest, we didn't see much of it, but it's nice to have.
There are also two large wardrobes (one with ironing board and mini-safe) providing plenty of storage for your clothes.
There's also a tea/coffee maker and a mini-fridge (you'll have to pay for full board, but I think it's all-inclusive).
The bathroom is large and accessed through a folding glass screen (though it's opaque!). There is a large shower, toilet, bidet (with its own door), two sinks, and a huge freestanding bath.
There are plenty of toiletries available, and they are of such high quality that you don't have to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, etc. I had never tried Smith & Co from New Zealand before, but it left my hair so soft and it smelled so good!
There are some small details you'll want to know. The desk has a drawer that actually opens and closes, and has two USB sockets, which I utilized to charge my phone.
There's also a little panel that controls the lights (so easy!) and a button that you can press to say “no room service.” They wake him up! ).
Oh, and the balcony door also has a child lock, nice and high up. Not sure about me, but I couldn't unlock it either. But basically, all you have to do is pull out the wire and push a button at the same time, giving you access to your spacious balcony.
Of course, there is also a fairly powerful air conditioner. Room service will make your bed and bring fresh towels. I wish I had room service at home!
Last year we visited Dubai and stayed at Rixos The Palm. You can read hotel reviews and junior suite reviews here. We also reviewed the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
We visited Rixos Marina in Abu Dhabi as part of a press trip and, as always, all opinions expressed are our own.
