North Yorkshire Police said the incident occurred on Heinderwell Road between 7pm on March 3rd and 4am on March 4th.
The force said it wanted information from anyone who has seen or heard anything particularly relevant, or from someone with CCTV, ring doorbells or other evidence to come into contact with.
