North Yorkshire Police have shared the story of a police chase that occurred in the early hours of this morning and led to the arrest of a group of six people.
A spokesperson said the force received reports of a group breaking through the gates of a business near Burton-le-Willows at 12:40am today (November 24).
After leaving on the A64, Roads Police officers spotted a vehicle, believed to be part of the operation, traveling alongside a car.

The team's sergeant then coordinated with the control room and assembled various resources, including a canine unit, to stop the vehicle. After attempting this near Askham Brian, the two occupants of the HGV ejected while it was still in motion, leading police to pursue them on foot.
A police spokesperson said: “Our police dog Run worked alongside his handler for over an hour, tracking scents and tracing footprints over approximately 7km through various muddy fields and woodlands.
“Not one to give up easily, Lung purred again when he spotted two men hiding in a haystack. The men matched the description of the HGV runners.”
The four people inside the vehicle were arrested in the incident.
Once the HGV was safely stopped, thankfully without any damage, police were able to recover more than £50,000 of gin. Shortly after the incident, police were alerted to a gin distillery in Burton-le-Willows that had been broken into through the roof.
Six people from the West Yorkshire area – two in their 20s, three in their 30s and one in their 50s – were arrested on suspicion of robbery and are currently in police custody.
