North Yorkshire Police have announced that two men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car from York, just 30 minutes after it was taken.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, forces received a report that two men had stolen a vehicle from a driver who was attempting to get into Lyft.
The suspects fled in a stolen Skoda Rapid, but officers tracked their movements north and found the vehicle in Easingwold by 2am.
Two men were found nearby and arrested in connection with the incident.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of car theft, failing to provide breath and drug swab samples for analysis and assaulting paramedics.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and driving a car while under the influence of drugs.
The vehicle was recovered for forensic examination.
Both men remain in custody and investigation continues.
