York's date is fifth on a nine-city tour in the UK and Ireland, closing out Kommer's performance as Tessa. This is a young barrister from a working class background working towards the top of her game, until unexpected events force her to confront the patriarchy of law, the boundaries of evidence and morality.
Jody won the Olivier Award when he made his theatrical debut in production at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London, and then won a Tony Award when the play was moved to Broadway.
Comer said:
“In both London and New York, the resonance of Susie Miller's writing was beyond anything we could imagine.
“I'm very excited to have the opportunity to bring the team back to theatres across the country, including their hometown in Liverpool. In my personal notes, I can't think of a better finale for what has been an incredibly deeply and rewarding chapter in my life.”
Author Susie Miller added: “I couldn't be more excited about the Prima Facie 2026 tour. The play has achieved more than we all dreamed of, and Jody's commitment to the story reaching many new venues and communities means that more people can become part of the conversation and solutions.”
