Stargazers across the country have had many times in 2024 to get a glimpse of Aurora Light, also known as Aurora Borealis.
According to Met Office's forecast, Brits are set to get the latest chance to see what they call “one of the most spectacular displays in the night sky” on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 15th and 16th).
The best time to see the aurora
Aurora may be visible in parts of the UK on Tuesday night (April 15th), according to Met Office.
The weather forecast for Met Office Space said: “Aurora is expected to be at normal background levels until coronal mass emissions arrive, which is likely to follow Tuesday's UTC (April 15) and Wednesday (April 16).
“This could bring the Ouroral oval to similar geomagnetic latitudes to the northern part of the UK, as there could be some kind of visibility towards the northern part of the UK.
“However, cloud covering in most parts of the UK limits viewing of the Aurora. The oval of the Aurora is alleviated to subsequent background levels.”

What is the Aurora?
Aurora is caused by collision particles from the sun in the Earth's atmosphere.
Color is generated because different gases in the Earth's atmosphere are activated by charged particles.
Nitrogen and oxygen are the two most common gases in the atmosphere, with nitrogen being purple, blue and pink colors, and oxygen releasing green.
