The Met Office has issued a fog weather warning in areas of northern England. The yellow weather warning issued late on Sunday nights is in effect for more than 10 hours from Sunday (March 9) to Monday (March 10) at 10:40pm.
As a result of the fog, traffic and travel disruptions are possible in some areas. The warning is in effect across the Northeast and Yorkshire (the full list of areas covered can be found below).
The Met Office weather warning states: “Fost will continue to occur in northeastern England, Yorkshire and parts of Humberside until Sunday night. The thick fog may be in places where visibility can be 50 meters.

“If you're driving, leaving time to travel, and modifying your plans as needed, checking road conditions is the most likely to avoid delays. Make sure you know how to switch fog lights and make sure it's working before you set out on your trip. Bus and train services, flight and ferry trips may also be affected. Check for the latest updates from the travel agency.”
