Except for buses, Whitby Swing Bridge will close traffic on this bank holiday weekend on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
It will be closed daily from 10:30am to 4pm to improve pedestrian safety and support the town's economy.
The closure will take place on weekends with school holidays, bank holidays and special events. A full list of closures is available on the North Yorkshire Council website.
A police spokesman said: “Unfortunately, when more than 100 bridges were closed last Saturday, we ignored signs crossing the bridge.
“It should also be noted that St. Anne's Stay has restrictions during the same time of vehicle access, with limited exceptions, for loading, buses, taxis and permits.
