Farmhouse Inns has launched a new Grand Day Out offer, offering free meals to grandparents and elderly relatives throughout November, with a twist on the traditional 'kids eat free model'. .
The agreement was made in response to research into how isolated older generations in Britain feel.
The study found that almost half (43%) of Britons aged over 65 feel lonely up to five times a week, and almost a quarter (24%) have gone a day without seeing anyone in the past year. It turned out that it continues.
When it comes to dealing with loneliness and isolation, almost half (46%) of the public think pubs are great places to visit.
This offer is available at all Farmhouse Inn pubs across the UK every Tuesday throughout November.
In addition, nearly two-thirds (66%) of those surveyed said that a traditional Sunday roast helps bring people together.
Older diners said they enjoyed their regular roast dinners. More people over 65 (29%) eat a roast dinner once a week than any other age group, and almost twice as many (15%) as younger people aged 25 to 34.
Half say they feel less connected to the people around them, and more than half (54%) admit to thinking this way.
