North Yorkshire Police said two men, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, from the York area, were arrested at the weekend as part of a major investigation into an incident in the Haxby Road area.
They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at York Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
North Yorkshire Police named the deceased man as 26-year-old Indrit Mustafazi.
A man and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting a criminal have been released pending further investigation.
A second man injured in the incident was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
In addition to murder, both men are charged with two counts each of intentionally causing serious bodily injury.
