North Yorkshire Police conducted an “influence operation” across the York, Harrogate and Northallerton areas.
A vehicle pulling a trailer was stopped on the A1(M) in Hambleton and officers said the trailer was discovered to be carrying two reindeer. The driver was arrested on a warrant.
A force spokesperson said: “The arrests were in connection with separate incidents and a range of offenses including drugs, assault and domestic violence.”
Some of the suspects are wanted by police in connection with active investigations, while others are wanted by courts for failing to attend legal proceedings, police added.
Sergeant Savannah Knighton said: “Everyone found yesterday was taken into custody…with the exception of the reindeer, both were safely brought home.”
“This was a pre-Christmas effort to locate and detain a number of wanted suspects and teams across the force worked together to achieve a fantastic result.
“However, we work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to locate wanted persons, which helps keep communities safe and ensures that those seeking to flee justice have no place to hide. ”
Yesterday, a wanted woman was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer while she was in custody.
