The winger first signed in the summer and has been an ever-present in York's squad ever since, not missing a game in all competitions so far this season.
But Hinshelwood is keen for his good work in training to carry over to match day, and City are feeling the benefits.
The former Rochdale star's stunning strike in Saturday's 6-2 win over Maidenhead United, as Sinclair deftly dropped off a great pass from Dan Batty before lobbing it to Craig Ross, was a huge hit for the LNER community.・It was the second goal in the match at the stadium.
“I told him before the game, his game is not defined by what he does in the first 10 minutes of the game,” Hinshelwood admitted.
“If he's positive, Tyrese Sinclair is going to be positive, but if it's negative, his body language and everything is down.
“We want our players to play with freedom and confidence, especially in attack.
“I think we're starting to see what a confident Tyrese Sinclair is like. He's a real threat at this level.
Recommended books:
“His goals, assists and all-round play are much better and he is reliable in the build-up.
“We just want him to stay on top of it, put the mistakes out of his mind and just focus on the next move.
“I think sometimes he receives the ball and thinks about what he did wrong before.
“There's still a lot we don't know about Tyrese, but when he's confident and playing the way he's playing right now, we have an extraordinary talent.”
Saturday's victory over Maidenhead was the first time York had scored six goals in a game since January 2012, when they played against Salisbury City in the Isuzu FA Trophy (which also ended 6-2). Hinshelwood was pleased to see the ineffectiveness of his team's attack. He has scored 22 goals in his last five home games.
Coach Hinshelwood was particularly pleased with Sinclair's batting, admitting that the performance was “much closer” to what he expected from his players.
“It was a lot of fun. A lot of good things happened,” Hinshelwood said excitedly. “Obviously we looked back at the goals we conceded and we have things to work on there, but overall it was pretty close to what we wanted.
“I especially felt really good about our pressing, the number of times we lost the ball in our own half of the pitch and went to press to get it back. That was a big part of our game.
“The first and third were really good goals, especially the third.
“The ball, the first touch and the finishing were unbelievable.
“If that goal was in the Premier League, it would be played over and over again and that just shows the quality of that goal.
“I think when I first came to the club, a scoreline like that was what was labeled. Everybody expected it and to be honest, the first half of the season was clean. I was more than happy to have kept my seat.
“We definitely want to get back to that form and I'm really happy that we got goals from a lot of different players at the same time, so that's good.”
“Some of our forward players are starting to find real confidence now.”
