Walker Crips Financial Planning is running the program in collaboration with York University.
The program provides students with practical experience in financial planning and equips industry skills and opportunities for long-term career development.
Program participants continue to pursue careers in financial planning, with some returning to Walker Clips as well.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing financial and operations at Walker Crips Financial Planning,” said Don Formhals, Director of Finance and Operations at Walker Crips Financial Planning.
Interns bring great value to our team from the start, contributing to fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
“Even if they only spend a year with us, the impact is important.
“But that's even better when they choose to go back and build their careers with us.
“Good people find their place and are proud that our interns are making progress through our financial training plans.”
George Smart is a former intern who returned to Walker Crips and is currently working on the company's financial training program.
He is currently contributing to projects exploring the use of AI in report writing, paraplanning, and financial planning.
This year's intern Archie Blair supported the team with the adoption of a new back-office system.
“We are pleased to announce that we are a great opportunity to help you,” said Rhiannon Heraty, an internship officer at York University.
“The combination of mentorship, industry exposure and work experience makes this an exceptional internship.
“It's great to see students thrive in the program and use it as a stepping stone for their careers.”
