As reported, 28-year-old Roy Page passed away on December 30, 2024. The former Elvington Harriers winger was a hugely beloved by the community.
His final team, the Elvington Harriers, chose to honor Roy's life by taking on three Peaks challenges. This includes climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours.
“It was a huge shock,” said teammate George Arcsey. “After we found out, we all checked in each other and toasted his memory.”

The collection was photographed in support of York Mind at Roy's funeral.
“He was a loving father and a great friend to many people across York,” George added.
“Everyone at the club has been supporting each other since it happened.”
The team set out on their challenge this May, donating to their efforts, and JustGiving Page will find www.justgiving.com/page/elvingtonharriers.
“Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference and the Elvington team will be extremely grateful,” George added.
