The Environment Agency has issued a red warning for the flooding in Whitby, scheduled to take effect today from 4pm to 6:45pm (March 30th).
In the warning, the Environment Agency stated: “The Whitby Harbor area is at its most risky, including the Abraham quay, Peer Road, Newquay Road, Church Street, Campiondock and Bagdale Road.”
Coastal towns experienced a rainfall spell yesterday. The same flood warning was issued in parts of Bridlington.
The Environment Agency added: “We will continue to monitor levels closely. Stay away from beaches, promnades, coastal sidewalks and roads. Consider enacting a flood plan as big waves and ocean sprays are dangerous.”
