North Yorkshire Police are investigating the sexual assault of a Huntington woman.
A police spokesperson said: “Sometime between midnight and 1.21am today (January 8), she was walking her dog on a footpath along South Bec off Moncton Road. An incident occurred,'' he said.
“She was attacked by a strange man and pushed to the ground on a grassy mound.
“The incident was reported to North Yorkshire Police at 1.21am. An extensive search was carried out and detailed inquiries are continuing to locate him.
“The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build and was wearing a tracksuit.
“If you think you may know this man or have any information that could assist our investigation, please contact us without delay.
“We are also appealing to residents in the local area to check their CCTV and doorbell cameras for footage of people walking around between 12am and 1.21am today. ”
The victim is being supported by specially trained police officers while the investigation continues.
