In the West Riding County Women's Football League, the Wyke Wanderers were in the home of a familiar enemy and had their fourth match of the season against Premier Division fighter Morley Town.
The game began quite steadily, but the team suffered from spells with spins of the ball on wet surfaces, mud and wind paces.
It was a bit crude at times, but Wyke tried to play football, kept pushing that important first goal, and finally arrived.
A pinpoint ball from Jade Nelson found Megan Dunlop out of width.
There were a few more opportunities, but the Morley Keeper made some good saves.
The second half began with winds against the Wanderers, and the pitch was getting much heavier in location.
Morley used this and started pressing a lot.
With tactical changes to put the visiting backline under more pressure, Orladarkin in Player of the Match immediately causes problems as soon as he stepped onto the pitch with pace and direct play.
Further changes have caused Sophie Mitchell to go down the wing and cause problems, with Kelly Brannan reaching those key positions.
In the end, Brannan's clever through-ball found Lois Cooper, who guaranteed three points on the Bradford side with a fine finish.
Overall, it's not Wyke's best performance, but the 2–1 victory put him in second place on top of League Cup quarterfinal opponent Farsley Celtic (now playing for Castleford).
The Celts slipped off last weekend, losing 3-1 and were comforted by rail haragate Shirley Murphy.
The current leader, Leeds Medics & Dentists, was limited to goalless draws at Sherburn White Rose.
Silsden Jr. and Skipton entered the first half at Legal Interior Stadium, followed a similar pattern in the second half.
In Division 1 it was second opposed as Tuckley took over the town of Naresboro in a fiercely fighting competitive game at wind-blown meridian stadium.
Town played with the wind in the first half, but Sackley's Briony Morris made some important saves to stay in the game.
Thackley had wind benefits in the second half, but many of their opportunities were wasted.
The Denny Girls dropped the first point of the season after a goalless draw, but remained unbeaten in the league.
Next Sunday, the Top 4 will be involved in the WRCWFL quarterfinals, including a Sackley at the home of league rival Golker United.
In Division 4, Taisal was away from Ilklee Town development with a challenging, competitive and fun match.

Amy Barnett caused early problems with some great presses supported by Jade Cameron and Charlotte Tiffany.
Isobel Hargreaves were constant on the part of the defenders as Tyersal scored one of their best performances this season.
That wasn't enough as Ilkley Devs fought hard too, creating opportunities and scored goals that Freya Power and Ruby Bell worked well to secure a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
The league equipment this weekend is restricted by Cup competitions, including Bradford City v Spenimoor, Ecrusil v Hudders Field Amateur Reserve, Field v Burley, Hudders Field Town v Leeds United, Ilquely Domaines v Shadwell, Skipton Devas v Rangers Athletes and more.
In the delayed West Riding County Women's Trophy semi-finals, Ecrusil United were away from the Horse Force at St. Margaret.
Horsforth made a brave effort to get back into the game, but Eccleshill scored twice late to win 3-0.
It watches them until the final at the county headquarters on Sunday, May 18th, and they meet one rover from their fellow Bradfordside route.
