When Cold Snap hits the UK, ice yellow weather warnings have been issued in parts of the UK today.
Temperatures fell to 0c between 3am and 9am this morning, leading to icy spells in the East Midlands, Northeast England, Northwest England, Yorkshire and Humber.
Forecasters predicted winter showers and warned that ice conditions could increase the risk of injuries and accidents on untreated roads and cycle paths.
The Met Office said: “The shower continues until Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Drivers and cyclists should keep an eye on the ice condition, according to Met Office.
The untreated surfaces can be particularly dangerous in the Pennine and Peak districts this morning.
“This means there can be some ice-like patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. This means that people in this area should be particularly careful about their morning commute before temperatures rise until the morning,” the predictor added.
It comes after forecasters predicted another polar vortex would hit the UK in March. Like the famous “Beast from the East” in 2018, heavy snowfall led to the deaths of 17 people.
Snow fell on parts of central England on Wednesday, including the Birmingham and Cheltenham racetracks.
The Met Office predicts it will be unstable in mid-March, but with rain and wind spells across the UK, Britons enjoyed warm, sunny spells over the weekend.
