Ceramic artist Sylvia Schrour chose Fulford Orchard, once part of the hospital, as her focus.
She said: “Naburn Hospital was once one of York's largest medical institutions with over 400 patients, many of which were the poorest in the area.
“It opened in 1906 and was also a home for soldiers who recovered from the horrors of war.”

Sylvia said she had never heard of Fulford Orchard before choosing it for the York College Project.
She said: “I was surprised that very few people have never heard of it.

Sylvia's project aims to highlight orchards and encourage people to visit.
She said: “My purpose in this art project is to focus on orchards and to encourage visitors to take a walk through the orchards in this heritage community.
