The 16-year-old was among nine people arrested when Hartlepool United played York City on March 1st.
Prosecutors have launched a legal move in which he is subject to a football ban order.
The 16-year-old, unable to be named for legal reasons, appeared in front of the Teesside Youth Court. He admitted to owning fireworks flares while trying to enter Hartlepool United's home ground for a National League match.
The sentence was postponed in the same court until July 9th. The magistrate then hears prosecution and defense debate over whether he should be banned from all professional and international football matches in the UK for at least three years, and is banned from traveling abroad while the UK is playing abroad.
Nearly 5,000 people participated in the match that York City won 1-0.
In the preliminary stage of the game, both clubs issued a joint statement encouraging fans to “represent the club in the right way” as several people were arrested for violence after the same fixture in January 2024.
