Adam Hinshelwood has provided the latest updates on the recovery of Adam Crookes, Ryan Fallowfield and Dipo Akinyemi.
Both Crookes and Fallowfield have returned to contest after the injury, but Akinyemi, who was initially not expected until the end of the season, is “not too far.”
It's coming as a relief for Hinshelwood after City had to get past seven games in 21 days.
Hinshelwood had been expecting some injuries throughout that busy period, but confirmed that his player came unharmed.
“We're in a really good place,” confirmed Hinshelwood.
“Obviously, I'm sitting here three weeks after Saturday to Tuesday so I'm going to make sure everyone fits in (great).
“We've now got Crookesy Back available and ready for a few minutes. Ryan is now available. Dipo is training.
“I don't think he's ready for this week, but it's really promising.
“Sams (Manning, Physio) cleaned up the treatment room and didn't suffer any new injuries.
“The rotation over the last three weeks is key and we're heading towards the end of the season and we have a very strong team in 10 games.”
As Fallowfield and Crookes become available and Akinyemi approaches return, Hinshelwood is cautious about exploring the open transfer market, even if the registration window closes at the end of March.
City bosses are keen to not add to the team just for that reason, but have admitted that decisions could change if injuries affect his team in future matches, but once again, only if the player leaves the football club first.
Hinshelwood explained:
“He really wants to bag my door and spend a few minutes already.
“He's definitely not that far.
“We have a team of players that we have fit, so we probably will answer that question.
“I think there must be players who will leave to take anyone. We have a real good team. We probably have to leave two or three, maybe one extra player at home, for when we travel.
“We're in a good place and hopefully dipping will improve in the coming weeks.”
Hinshelwood also confirmed that he has no interest in any of his players yet. This means that no one leaves the club before that deadline.
“I had no such conversations (with other clubs) and I haven't heard anything on that line yet.
“It's getting closer and I don't know how it will be, and hopefully we can get through this weekend with a clean bill.
“You never know in football how it can change quickly.
“We're ready if we need to bring anything in, but at this stage we're happy with where this team is.”
