York Knights announce team numbers for 2025 Championship

The former Man of Steel took over the No. 9 shirt from Will Jubb, who was the club's second-most capped player before joining Featherstone Rovers at the end of last year.

Arriving at York in a player-coach role, McShane's experience will be invaluable to Mark Applegarth's side, which will lose both Josh Daly and James Cunningham after the 2024 season.

Young talents Taylor Pemberton (14) and Sam Cooke (19) are likely to be swapped, while Jack O'Neill (22) will also feature at hooker as he looks to restart his career after injury. I hope so.

The 20-year-old, who arrived on loan from Wakefield Trinity at the end of July, will make the move permanent for 2025 and will join fellow new signing Kieran Buchanan (3) in the centre.

Miles Harrison (26 years old), Jude Ferreira (29 years old) and Mac Walsh (30 years old) will offer competition for the position, while Levi Edwards (23 years old) is also nearly two years old after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. He is aiming to play in a match for the first time in years.

Prop Brenden Santi is considering moving up to number 10, as is Jack Martin, who will wear number eight in his first full season at the club. They will wear numbers 21 and 17 in place of veterans Ukuma Ta'ai and Connor Fitzsimmons.

Jack Teenby will again wear number 15, reflecting his regular role as an impact substitute, while Jacob Gannon, Bailey Antrobus, Kieran Hudson and Jack Brown will wear numbers 16, 25 and 31 respectively. He will wear number 32.
