Thomas Michael Knights, 31, cried and swears as he kicked her door.
When his neighbor left her home and tried to intervene, he threw abuse at her.
His actions upset the children who witnessed it, Ms. Berry said.
The Knights of Nines Avenue in Tan Hall pleaded guilty to using violence to attempt criminal damage to doors and windows.
Defense attorney Lee-Anne Robins-Hicks said the lockout was the catalyst for the incident.
“He got upset, emotional and eventually got mad,” she said. “He really regrets it. It was a one-off, impulsive incident that was unlikely to be repeated.”
The Knights “move ahead” from that relationship and now they are in another “serene” relationship.
The magistrate said the incident last July 9th must be “terrifying.” They gave him a 12-month community order with a 26-session programme on six months of alcohol treatment, how to implement domestic relations, and 140 hours of unpaid work.
He was also banned from contacting his former partner or going to his home for two years, and ordered to pay a prosecutor's fee of £85 and a statutory surcharge of £114.
Ms. Berry said the Order was drinking and became aggressive in the women's house.
The woman ended up locking him up, Berry said. “The defendant took an exception to this and took x from the yard.”
He crashed twice into the walls of the house, drilling two holes and attacking the door and window.
Mrs. Robbins Hicks said the Order tried to do the right thing following the discussion at his former partner's home.
He left the house and created a “cooling” period.
But then she locked him in, which led to his rage.
Previously, he had built a chicken coop in the garden and left his tools in the garden.
