West Yorkshire police confirmed that 74-year-old Brian McClure passed away on Tuesday (February 18th).
His family paid tribute to him after his death, they said: “We are sorry to announce the loss of Brian McClure. Brian was an incredible husband, father and grandfather.
“A kind, warm and loving man, he will be very overlooked by everyone.
York RUFC joined the tribute and announced that since 1987 Brian was the club's honorary secretary.
A club spokesman said, “You might be surprised to learn that Brian took on the role of honorary secretary in 1987 and is approaching by mail in his 40th year.
“His mark of excellence is in all quiet ways that everything has “occurred” and many people are involved with him as his role covers the distribution and role of international RFU tickets. It must be.
“Many of us are looking at the touchline beautifully over the coming weeks. We hope Brian will smile and watch the game, and we will be hearts with memories of the wonderful man and beloved members of the club. Before you meet.
“He leaves behind his beloved wife Margaret, daughter Kathryn, son Neil and a wider family.”
West Yorkshire Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Brian's death. They ask anyone who has seen the conflict or has Dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
